Job Description

An adjunct instructional faculty member will be responsible for maintaining the highest academic standards in his/her particular discipline. The individual is expected to exercise professionalism and civility in all activities related to the role of academician, including those concerned with the various duties assigned, and any involvement with colleagues, peers, community and students.

Teach classes on campus as required by department chair and perform administrative duties associated with the course (such as submitting syllabi, posting grades, etc.) as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Disciplines require a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the related discipline.
  • Dental Hygiene: appropriate academic preparation in dental hygiene or academic preparation coupled with work experience (minimum academic degree must be at the same level at which the faculty member is teaching).FLBoD current Florida licensure as a dental hygienist or dentist. Master’s degree preferred but will consider academic preparation / experience in the practice field. Current State of Florida Dental Hygiene license required.
  • OTA: Appropriate academic preparation in occupational therapy or academic preparation coupled with work experience (minimum academic preparation must be at the same level at which the faculty member is teaching). AOTA nationally acredentialed as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant. Master’s degree preferred but will consider academic preparation / experience in the practice field. Current license / certification in the field is required.
  • PTA: appropriate academic preparation in physical therapy or academic preparation coupled with work experience (minimum academic preparation must be at the same level at which the faculty member is teaching). FLBoPT current Florida licensure as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. Master’s degree preferred but will consider academic preparation / experience in the practice field. Current license / certification in the field is required.
  • Radiography: Appropriate academic preparation in radiography or academic preparation coupled with work experience (minimum academic preparation must be at the same level at which the faculty member is teaching). Holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification or equivalent and active registration in the pertinent discipline. Also holds active Florida General Radiographer State license. A.S. or A.A.S. degree required. Additional qualifications include AART® registry in good standing, current Florida State License and two years’ experience as a radiographer.
